Flea and ear mite problem in cats?

My neighbors dog was kind enough to share his fleas with my cats before he moved out. Now I have a steadily growing flea problem and on top of that my cats also have ear mites now. due to problems with not being able to find homes for a couple accidental batches of kittens I have 2 yr olds, 3 1 yr olds, and 3 13 week olds, yes 8 in total. Even bigger problem I'm on a really tight budget, and can't afford to drop 200 bucks on flea control right now. And no, I did not intend to have more cats than I could afford, and if I could find homes for any of my cats they would be moving out, unfortunately that's not going to help my current situation. If anyone can tell me what the least expensive way to get rid of the fleas and ear mites would be, I'd appreciate it.
